‘Physician Who’ Spinoff ‘The Conflict Between the Land and Sea’ Introduced

The Conflict Between the Land and Sea, a five-part collection spinoff of beloved sci-fi collection Physician Who, was revealed throughout the “Into the Whoniverse” panel at San Diego Comedian-Con.  

Creator Russell T Davies (Physician Who) co-wrote the spinoff with Pete McTighe (A Discovery of Witches, The Pact, Physician Who). Dylan Holmes-Williams directs.

“I’m so fortunate to work with such a powerful solid,” Davies mentioned in an announcement. “And this can be a big, muscular, thrilling drama which can shake The Whoniverse to its foundations. When the Physician’s not on the town, the complete of humanity is in hassle.”

The collection follows a world disaster triggered by an historic species rising from the ocean, endangering the complete inhabitants. The restricted collection marks the return of the Sea Devils, a franchise villain which first appeared in 1972.

Leads Russell Tovey (Feud, American Horror Story: NYC) and Gugu Mbatha-Uncooked (Floor, Loki) are joined by franchise acquainted faces Jemma Redgrave as Kate Lethbridge-Stewart and Alexander Devrient as Colonel Ibrahim.

Unhealthy Wolf produces with BBC Studios for Disney Branded Tv and BBC. Filming begins subsequent month. Davies govt produces alongside Phil Collinson, Joel Collins, Julie Gardner and Jane Tranter. No phrase but on who will deal with the otherworldly VFX.

The Conflict Between the Land and Sea will air on Disney+ in addition to and BBC One and BBC iPlayer within the U.Okay.
